At the event, the chefs compete against each other for "Best Tasting Canapé", "Most Creative Colour/Food Inspiration" and the "People’s Choice" awards.
The 2011 judging panel includes:
Eric Akis - A chef and food writer, Eric is the best-selling author of the Everyone Can Cook series of cookbooks. His twice-weekly, recipe-rich, popular food columns are published in the Times Colonist.
Gary Hynes - A former chef, sommelier and restaurateur turned food writer and magazine publisher, Gary owns and publishes EAT, the award-winning BC food and drink magazine. EAT Magazine was founded in 1998 and is read bimonthly by over 100,000 avid food and wine lovers around BC.
Denise Marchessault - Cooking instructor and proprietor of French Mint, Denise is classically trained in French cuisine. A Le Cordon Bleu graduate, she is a recipient of the Grand Diplôme in recognition of superior level qualifications in both cuisine and pastry. Denise is a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals.
At the event, the judging panel will sample the canapés first and judge for the first two awards, and then ticket holders will sample and vote for their favourite.
